We will never ask you for money. This site does not collect donations, does not take payment details, and will never send you a payment link. Nepal Police have warned that scammers are targeting flood relief. If any page, message or caller claiming to be nepalflood.info asks you for money or bank details, it is fraudulent. update@nepalflood.info

What this site collects

Only what is needed to help find someone, and no more.

Published on the site

Name and alternate spellings, nationality, age, sex, last known location, and case status. This is visible to anyone and is syndicated in our PFIF feed so other registries can match records.

Held privately, never published

The reporting family’s email address, and the phone number of anyone sending reports by WhatsApp. Phone numbers are stored only as a salted hash. These are never shown on the site, never included in the public feed, and never released in the authorities export.

Photographs

Location data is removed from every photograph before it is stored — photos normally carry the GPS coordinates of where they were taken, which for a family photo is your home address. One photo per person, and it cannot be replaced from the website.

Why contact details stay private

Missing-person lists are harvested during disasters to run extortion scams on families — a caller claims to be holding your relative and demands payment. That is why this site publishes names so people can be found, and never publishes a way to reach the family looking for them.

Who we are, and what we are not

nepalflood.info is operated by Sero Technologies, a private company. It is not a government service and has no official standing. It does not dispatch rescuers and cannot confirm anyone’s status on its own authority.

Always also report a missing person to Nepal Police and to your own country’s foreign ministry. See consular desks.

How long we keep it

Records are kept for the duration of the search and for up to 12 months afterwards, then deleted. You can ask for removal at any time.

Remove a record

If your person has been found, or you want their entry taken down for any other reason, ask here. A moderator will confirm your connection to the person before removing it — we cannot delete on an anonymous request, because that would let a stranger erase a family's case.
